Matt.1.21

The challenge at Merry Monday Christmas is  the inspiration for this Christmas Card.   It is simple, traditional and looks "handmade" which is ok with me.  It is perfect for making in bulk.  I have a group of ladies from my neighborhood who are going to help me to make cards to donate for ministry so this would work for that, since most of them have never made cards.  The verse is downloaded from Word Art Wednesday.   I changed the word Jesus to red in my word program before I printed it.   I used a label program and printed 4 on an 81/2 by 11 page, so I didn't waste the paper.  I have 3 more I can use.   The colors are gumball green (ret) and Real Red (both SU).  The holly is from a CTMH stamp set Glory to God (ret.)  I added the small bow that I had already made in my stash box.   This was a great challenge...and I've enjoyed seeing what the designers and others have done with it.      Thanks for stopping by,   Kathy

full bloom...

Today's card is made using items from the March Simon Says Monthly Kit....I used the sticker sentiment and a floral piece of carte bella paper...I also added the small peach check from a Paper Studio Pack.   It's fairly simple but it came together nicely using the current Match the Sketch challenge.   I am also linking it to Word Art Wednesday,  I enjoy their site.   Thanks for stopping by, kathy

Pitcher of flowers...

Simple...most of what I used is from the Simon Says March Kit,  I started the card a couple of days ago and let it "simmer" somewhat in my brain.  I wanted to use items from my March Kit...because in a couple of weeks my May kit comes...I balanced the floral print ( carte bella) with a much smaller print (Paper Studio).  The pitcher of flowers is a "sticker" from the kit...It isn't flimsy and the easiest way to take away its sticky so it pops well is ti use the embossing buddy on the sticky side. I fussy cut around the inside of the handle to insert the sentiment strip and tie twine around the handle.  It was raining (coming down in buckets) today (great for settling the pollen) but not as cheery, so it made for a good day to create a "fresh flowers from the garden" card!  The sentiment is from Perennial Birthday SU.   I used my nuvo glimmer brush on the flowers in the pitcher and finished off with SU rhinestones....I have a couple of pretty bushes coming from Cottage Farns (QVC) this coming week that will create a welcome on each side of my front steps.   I also am planting tomato vines in the raised bed in backyard this week!   I am excited for Spring and Summer to get full blown.  Thanks for stopping by.   Comments are appreciated, I'm not a flower gardener so if anyone can identify the flowers on the card I would love to know!          smiles,  kathy

Crocusing on you...

a very simple card, the crocus bulbs (or at least that's what I think they are) came from a set that was free with a cardmaking magazine (UK) that I picked up at Michaels.   The sentiments are Fun Stampers Journey.  I also used Lavender Fusion Ink (FSJ) natural thread SU, card base SU garden green.   Thanks for stopping by.  I've not played much this week, but this sketch caught my eye!  In addition to CAS(E) this sketch, I am also linking my card to Word Art Wednesday.
