Plaid Thank You...

Inspired by this card by Eva Bussom, I decided to go with Plaid Tidings DSP (SU) and use water color pencils for a pop of color!   I do love black and white plus one (in this case 3 colors)!      The stamp is from a Simon Says Stamp set Beautiful Flowers, that came with one of their kits of the month awhile back and I immediately thought of it when I saw the sketch  at Try Stampin on Tuesday.    The sentiment is from SU A Touch of Ink that was part of Sale A Bration earlier this year. Birthday Boy Card...

Clean and playful was the look I had in mind for this sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.  I kept it simple and decided not to go all frilly--after all boys have birthdays too!          The DSP is in the current catalog I think its' called Playing with Patterns.   I usually gravitate toward muted colors, but I decided Primary colors would work best!    I am also linking it to Seize the Birthday "Anything Goes."    Thanks for stopping by,     Kathy

Dragonfly birthday...

It's going in a mother's day basket for a friend.   It's all current product except the base (have no idea where I got it or what the color is) and the watercolor pencil (very old CTMH) Spring Iris.   I had planned to put the white panel on white...but when I saw how it looked it just didn't work.   So I went scrambling for something to match my original dragonfly.  This card base didn't match but I didn't have anything any better, so I stamped another  dragonfly and  watercolored it Spring Iris and then went hunting in the Blue Belle sequin collection for the closest match blue I could find.   There are few variations in the pack, they are super pretty...anyway--it's finished.   For some reason I am really loving the new SU Whimsy die collection.  Sketch is Tuesday Morning Sketches and I'm linking it to the "Anything Goes category at Seize the Birthday..   Thanks for stopping by,  have a safe and productive week!     Kathy
PS     I am rearranging the blog trying something new, so no telling how long that will take!   Please excuse the lack of personalization for now!

Hugs for stitches...

Welcome, if you have visited my blog before, you will notice that I've decided to rearrange things a bit...this will probably take awhile (moving furniture is a lot easier-or at least for me.   We'll see how it goes as I personalize it.  For this card I used a current sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday  DSP seemed like a good choice since I struggle with using several colors on my work. I rotated the sketch one turn to the right so the fussy card flower would be where the black rectangle is on the sketch!    Faux stitching from SU die Cuts provides dimension and interest..   The DSP is SU retired and I don't know it's name, but I think the colors are all still current. The rose patterned diagnol piece was cut and then run through the zyron and then was attached to the striped panel  (5 3/4 x 4 1/2), so I had room to use the large stitched rectangle and it would be continuous around all of it.  Base is basic gray and I think the rhinestones are from one of the Paper Pumpkin kits!   Fun sketch...this would make a nice card to send to someone who is recovering from surgery--it would keep them in stitches!   Pun intended!      Thanks for stopping in and I welcome feedback!     Kathy

Just Because floral...

A "just because" card is so versatile and when I saw the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for this week, I immediately knew how I would interpret it.   It didn't take me long to get it made.   Embossing the card panel made it roly poly--so I had to really coat the backside with adhesive so it would be flat on the base.   Cutting the base to open at the bottom felt like a nice touch for this sketch also.    My SU "friend" supplier and I are making a Mother's Day basket for an older friend who no longer stamps with us because of her health.   We are each making cards to put in, so this is going in there.   I also swap with 3 other card makers each month.  We swap a completely made card and a kit that only needs assembly,   this may be my kit---since adhering it to the panel was a challenge for me!
Thanks for stopping in,  comments are so appreciated.           Kathy
