Hi, it's time for a color challenge over at 52 CCT and when I saw it I knew I wanted to use this digital image from Glacielle from the set "Winter Rose Poinsettia." The sentiment is from another one of her digital sets
it reads "May peace and joy of the season be with you all year long," from the "Peaceful Season" digital set.
I printed the sentiment and the image on the base and then printed a second poinsettia in the basket and fussy cut around the poinsettia and popped it up on the card base.. The base is soft suede from SU (just retired-I had just bought a pack of it so I welcomed the opportunity to use it.) The images is colored using soft colored pencils from Castle Arts. A dry embossed white panel is layered directly onto the brown base and then the panel with the image and image and sentiment is popped onto this panel and then the poinsettia bouquet is popped on the basket. To finish it off, I added enamels from In the Forrest by Craft Consortium.. I really like this card and I plan to make some more. Thanks to all of you who encourage and support me. As I write this post I'm adjusting to turning 70 years old today.. I'm grateful to still be able to make cards, be on two design teams and blog about it all. Join us this week for this fun color challenge. Smiles, Kathy
PS My husband and I just added the sweetest little 7 month old female canine to our family. Next week I will share how this came about and post a picture of this sweet little cutie! We have name her Ziva!
Such a delightful card Kathy - love your use of the image and sentiment and how you layered up the flower. The embossed panel is stunning behind the main panel. I am heading to 73 in a few months... and am loving life! Enjoy
