Health Care Workers and First Responders thank you card...

 

In the fall Heather Haroldt mentioned Divinity Designs.   I had bought stamps when they were under a different name, but can't remember what the name was.   But I visited and purchased two stamp sets with dies and used them on this card,  Great Care and King of my Heart.  Both such versatile sets, so I am so glad today I was able to use and enjoy them.    For some time I felt the need to thank those who work so tirelessly and often in situations where they are short staffed to take care of not just Covid patients (although for the last 2 years Covid has been dominant in ICU and  regular hospital admissions.)   My daughter is a nurse and I am so proud of her and her hospital.   But this card is for all of those who work helping the injured and sick.    I felt like the sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday was the perfect sketch for what I wanted to make.   I used playing with patterns the purple Posy and Navy to try and not let it be an overly feminine look and to also look professional.    We are blessed with some of the most professional and capable workers in SC.  I wanted this card to reflect how much I respect and appreciate them!   The shower of hearts are tweaked from the arts that came out of the ekg strip.   It is so simple papers, die cuts, Versa Fine Clair Morning Mist Ink and a beautiful Sentiment.  I am going to put the links to all challenge blogs and product used below.    Thats about it, thanks for stopping by and comments are appreciated.     Smiles,   Kathy

Colorful Thank You Card....

Creating with color is a challenge.   But for this card, I decided to pull out all the stops.   The verdict is out....the only new product is the Evening Evergreen SU card base.  I computer generated the panel with the horizontal stripes.   I really wasn't sure what colors it would be.    The sketch is from Try Stampin on Tuesday and I used a sentiment to meet the criteria over at Global Design Project.    Thanks to all of you for stopping in.  Comments are welcome.     May all of you stay safe and healthy!         Kathy

 

Plaid Thank You...

 

Inspired by this card by Eva Bussom, I decided to go with Plaid Tidings DSP (SU) and use water color pencils for a pop of color!   I do love black and white plus one (in this case 3 colors)!      The stamp is from a Simon Says Stamp set Beautiful Flowers, that came with one of their kits of the month awhile back and I immediately thought of it when I saw the sketch  at Try Stampin on Tuesday.    The sentiment is from SU A Touch of Ink that was part of Sale A Bration earlier this year. Hummingbird Thank You

 

Notes to self:  1. buy some daubers this week     2.  Start checking to make sure your base is opening the right direction before adhering panel.         This card had it's challenges which is par for the course.    My envisioner just doesn't kick in as well as I would like, it seems.   For this card I used a frame instead of solid piece because it was going to cover too much of the green leaves.   I love this new SaleABration set from SU hence I'm going to need some daubers.   I actually looked up Hummingbird pictures (I blush to admit).   I need to put out feeders this spring, they really are beautiful.   I added some aqua shimmer painter, but it doesn't show up very well in photo.  I'm playing along over at Tuesday Morning Sketches and such a nice sampling this week over there.   Check it out.  I had my 2nd Covid Vaccine this week and I am doing very well!   Thanks for stopping by and keep wearing your masks we're getting there.

Thanks - Sea of Textures...

I've seen so many adorable cards with this SU set, that I borrowed it from my SU Demonstrator-friend.  I can think of lots friends that I might would send this card to, especially someone, who without being asked, notices that you need help!      The colors are the colors of the Tranquil Textures DSP (SU)  I inked the octopus using sponges, in Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and Mint Macaroon.  I die cut the octopus and fussy-cut the sea weed.   The rhinestones are the Octopus' breathing bubbles.    Thanks for looking, have a restful afternoon and a good week.   Kathy

SSS May Kit #1 (thanks)

Inspired by all the work in the Simon Says Stamp May Kit 2018 Gallery...I decided to make as many card as I could from the papers and stickers, stamps and die cut from this set.   For the most part it isn't the style I gravitate toward.   It is, however, a chance to grow.  Here is card one.   I used the Fab Friday Challenge # 138 for the design and I had paper left over for another card. Latte Thanks...

Please note - I posted the card with the pink cup and then made another card with the pool party (su) lid. I like to change my mind....sorry for the confusion....

For this card I combined two challenges...I bought the stamp awhile back at Hobby Lobby and have been waiting for a chance to use it.   I am making this card for a ladies swap group.   It's what I call a contemporary vintage look that was inspired by the card Concept #87 and the design is pretty much a "copy" of CAS(E) this sketch #261 retro93.   I think more jpg than png....meaning I layer as opposed to thinking transparency....I do like how this card turned out.  It was a step out of the box, to use this color scheme.  The panel is cut from designer paper and looks like the ceiling tiles that are either restored in old buildings or added to create a warm atmosphere...this I got from the card concept photo as well as the colors and of course the coffee.When I saw the challenge sketch below I was excited, because it shows exactly where to put stuff.    Thanks for stopping by, may the Lord bless your week-end!

When I first saw this challenge,  # 257 at CAS(E) this sketch I immediately thought of this flower stamp and sentiment from (ctmh-yrs ago very retired).  A friend had given me some "old" dsp that she had and I don't know the name but it reminded me of crushed curry and fresh fig...so I went with that.   For some reason my "blacks" do not work well on acrylic so I used fresh fig on the sentiment.   I also used a variety of stampin up markers....thanks a bunch for stopping by!      kathy

Homespun Grateful...

I like "homespun" look.  My sisters have been home for a reunion (been gone a week-missing them), and we have been reminiscing about our childhood growing up in Western NC.  Anyway this card is the first card I made using the FreshlyMade Sketches #304.   The paper is Petals and Paisley (retired SU) and the expression from CTMH (also retired).   Thanks for looking!

I've made a simple card patterned from the FreshlyMade Sketches #304.

I love the new SU (2017) Fall DSP.   I colored the SU White enamels with sharpies and used my xyron to make stickers.   I have another more "homespun" look using this sketch and the pumpkin stickers that I will also be posting.   Thanks for looking!
