Wedding Bouquet Card....

My daughter came home for the weekend and she asked if I had a wedding card for a friend of hers.  and while I probably do have others, but I wanted to do something with the design for this week at FreshlyMade Sketches.   I am also participating in the Water Cooler Wednesday "All About Occasions" challenge and The Flower Challenge number # 61 "Use A Shape."   This card by JoAnn, helped me envision my card.   I have done flowers both live and silk for friend's weddings, creating both round and cascading bouquets.    In the 70's and 80's it was popular for cascading bouquets to almost touch the floor.  The bouquet shape I chose for my card is a "modified cascade" since the ribbon goes down toward the bottom of card..   I've done hand tied real roses and created a hand tied look in silk flowers. I also make arrangements to use when our "extended family" meets at the Evitt Cemetary once a year to decorate the graves of our loved ones.   If you would like to see I have some pictures and tell about our custom here.  Right now I am trying to get proficient at using SU watercolor pencils on watercolor paper, both on images I stamp as well as digital images.   It's a work in progress for sure!   On today's card I used an old CTMH stamp and a retired SU stamp set also, gray granite and basic white with a dotted swiss embossing folder as well as painted the center flowers with nuvo shimmer mist.  Thanks for stopping by!      Have a healthy week,   Kathy

Wedding bouquet card...

This card was inspired by flowers I made for a bride.      The card elements were organized using the Freshly Made Sketch for this week...It will probably need to be hand delivered because of the bow on the bouquet. using the Su retired Needle and Thread stamp and die, I used different colored SU inks and then cut them up and assembled with glue dots.  It doesn't show too well, but I used wink of stella on the leaves.  The sentiment is from So Sentimental SU that is current and it has matching dies also.  I bought this set because of the large sentiment stamps and it worked well with this sketch...Thanks for stopping in, comments are so welcome!   Have a SAFE weekend!        Kathy

When birds get married...

Today's card story goes like this:  This cute wedding cake stamp came from FSJ.   I dug in my stash and came up with this vintage style black and white paper.   I stamped the image, sponged around with (SU) crumb cake) and then ran it through the dotted swiss embossing folder.  I stamped a few more of the cake images.  I fussy cut around the hearts and the cake and then the birds (themselves) again...because when I colored them in it just didn't work,  (wasn't clean looking-too much color going on) so I finally decided to leave them naked except for their head wear.  I apologize if anyone finds this offensive and if you can think of another way...I'm open to hear about it!      Thanks for stopping in and blessings on your week and your work.   Kathy

Sentiment and paper -CTMH (retired I think)
SU Markers,   pool party and pirouette pink
I also used nuvo shimmer pen in places on the birds and cake (don't think it shows well)

Grey, Gold Black...

I decided to combine the challenge at Color Throwdown #471 and the Case this Sketch #249 and see what I could come up with......
Supply List:
cs: SU black, smoky slate
ink:  Memento-Tuxedo Black and SU Smoky Slate
Sentiment:  Hero Arts
Stamp:  Flourishing Phrases SU
Gold diagonal paper:  Paper Studio Gifts of Gold 6x6
Ribbon: gold organdy (?) Gold metallic thread (thrift store find)

When I took it off the easel after making its' picture, I discovered I had it opening on the opposite side.  I'm giving it "as is" to a friend of my daughters...she will think its' funny!

Best Wishes

My card is patterned after the 300th sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches I used SU retired Sweet Sorbet Paper and the sentiment is from CTMH.   I will use this for a wedding or bridal shower.
Thanks for stopping by!
