Psalm 91.4

The photo at Inspirartion Station was the start of today's card.  The card base includes Psalm 91.4 that I printed on a 4 on 1 Word label program.  My printer doesn't always print straight (photo below) so I often need to use a die cut to straighten up my verse or sentiment!    Inspired by the bright stripes and a picnic where I might see some beautiful birds and such, I chose the bird on branch from the Hello Friend set, and the bright plaid cross piece from the SU Ring of Love Papers.   I stamped the bird image 4 times, 3 in black and 1 in Soft Succenlent . I then cut the 1st outlined image with a  stitched oval  (did not color it, just needed the bird there for position on the oval).  Next I  fussy cut the entire bird, branch and flowers and only colored the bird and the branch.    Thirdly I fussy cut the green leaves and glued to the bird piece, and finally fussy cut, colored and attached the flowers to the bird piece. The entire bird piece was then popped on the oval (that been embossed with dotted swiss) black oval and then black oval popped on the card panel.   The pearls were added as a sweet embellishment!  Thanks for stopping in, and smiles to all of you.

Psalm 34.18 Sympathy Card....

Probably like me you don't particularly like to make Sympathy cards, but sadly, from time to time we need a card to send a friend or acquaintance.   I just seem to gravitate that direction with this card made using this week's sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches.   One of the tasks I completed this week was organizing the cards I had gotten a recognition badge to display on my blog.   I ended up doing a post which I was able to link to a gadget on the left side of the blog, that can be clicked on to go to that post, which I can update if I ever need to.   I discovered that I had participated about 47 times over at TMS and several of my cards had been picked.   But what meant the most to me was as I was rereading the post where my sister had passed away that week and I had just found out that my myeloma had "relapsed."    The design team, were so "kind" with their comments and I felt surrounded by ladies who cared about me as someone who was struggling...As I read it all, my heart was lifted, my sister loved Jesus and I am confident we will one day be together again.   And for over a year now,   My myeloma has been in remission.   So thank you TMS design team for being there for me 2 years ago.   Cardmaking,  blogging and entering challenges has put me on a path of making friends with some wonderful caring folks!      Thanks for stopping in.    Smiles,    Kathy

Joy of the Lord...

The Bible Verse is a download from Digi Doodles Studio. a link along with the challenges I am entering will be listed below.  I stamped buds from the retired SU Hope Blooms set onto the current SU marble DSP papers, using the pink and the gray sheets, and fussy cut them.  My SU friend and supplier gave me a pack of the marble papers, along with my last order.  I had said I probably wouldn't use them, but now that I have them I think I am going to like and use them. At Christmas I told her I wouldn't use the Penguin Playmates but she pointed out the neutrality of at least one side, so I got them free in Sale A Bration and I love and use them a lot.  The CS is Smokey Slate (SU) and is one of my favorites in the neutrals.   It really is a fairly straightforward card.    I followed the sketch and made a square card (which I don't do often) at Freshly Made Sketches and yesterday their link said it would be open 6 moe days, but evidently that is a mistake they have chosen the winners today.  The link was still open so I linked my card.  They have always closed the link at 3:00 PM on Mondays.  Anyway, I let them know so they could fix it and it's not a problem,  they have an awesome sketch each week and  you can click on the sketch below and go to their site to check them out.  Tomorrow they will have a new sketch!   At tic tac toe I completed the top row,  and used a sweet pink plaid that was a download for Just Us Girls..  I just tried to make it fun by addding textures.   Thanks for stopping by and comments are so appreciated!      Kathy

Fun on ICE...

 

 First of all, you are not going crazy, the card that I linked is not the same as the one above.   The more I looked at the red sentiment the less I like it, so I did the sentiment in blue and used a cloud die.  So this is alow laying cloud just at the tree line but it works for me.  My mind had much on it when I started putting my card together during the night.  I had been looking at create a smile sketch for a few days and was planning to use some dies I have to give the look, but when I saw this background paper it just seemed to work so well, too bad I missed the link cut off.    I took liberties with the sketch, but it was defintely my inspiration and also the challenge photo at Just Us Girls served as inspiration.    Yesterday was my Multiple Myeloma infusion treatment day and I get steroids as part of the treatment, so I didn't even go to bed last night, because I always have so much drive going.   I take steroids every Tuesday, but only get the infusion every 4th Tuesday.    Anyway,  I found this cute set on Etsy and with so many elements I felt it would be something I could use every winter and for $3.00 it was a good deal,  so it is now part of my growing digital collection that I store on a flash drive to free my computer.  I work in Word when I use my digital papers and clip art digis..   I created the background and then printed the kids separately and fussy cut them.   I wanted to do a winter scene and the Olympics are on my mind, because I have a niece and her family who live near Bejing and it has been tough because of strict Covid Mandates, thankfully they are doing well.   These kids may just be practicing to be future ice skating Olympians.  Because of all that is going in my country and around the world, I really want to do more fun cards this year.  All of the challenges and the Etsy Digital set is listed below, I  wanted to try and make access easy,  but getting it all to stay put was like herding cats.  I think it's fixed, but I may not do it this way again..   I always appreciate comments and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.   Blessings to one and all,  Kathy

  

 

                        

 

Psalm 119.125,129 Card

Thanks for stopping in.   Today when I visited WORD art Wednesday, I decided to try and create a verse card every other week using their freebie downloads.   The sketch I'm using and the color combo (off white, orange and blue) is the current challenge at Fusion Card Challenge.  While not their exact colors, this color combo is highly unusual for me, but all in all I like it!.  I have no idea what color the CS is, but the sequins are Blue Belle (last years CTMH color of the year).  The stamp and dies are from Autumn Greetings and the die set that goes with the stamp set.   The plaid is SU retired from last year.   The thread is linen also retired SU.  The card is 4 1/2 by 6 ish and the kraft panel is a piece my daughter had left over many years ago when she was scrapbooking.      May the truth of these verses take root in our hearts as we consider  how good and kind our creator God really is.    Blessings to you all,   Kathy

Using DSP papers from my stash I created today's card for Tuesday Morning Sketches and WORDart Wednesday., using one of the verses that I have saved on my computer.    Using the pattern on the backside of the print I made the green tabs folded back under to look like loops.    Thanks for stopping by,   Kathy

Psalm 93.4

I wasn't sure if I wanted to share this card...I made it on Thursday and after looking at it for a few days, it has started to grow on me.    I love the verse and using one of the card bases from the March Paper Pumkin kit I had already stamped the music script before I saw this sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.   I decided that it would work nicely for what I had in mind.   Not wanting it be bland I chose Crushed Curry and So Saffron as colors for the shells and sequins (from Sale A Bration catalog).    I do a lot in monochromatic color so venturing out into multi color world is hard.      Thanks for stopping by and God bless you this Holy week.

Monochromatic Hello...

WORDart Wednesday

I tend to not be adventuresome when it comes to colors so it's no surprise that I went for a modified monochromatic look.   The papers came from my stash,  the base paper does not have a crease as the picture seems to indicate--that's actually how the paper came with weathered looking places.  I fancy cut the flowers from the edge of a floral patterned paper, carefully cutting the green leaves away.   There are three edge pieces that comprise the vertical cascade of flowers.  I popped the largest one near the sentiment (which is from Color Me Happy SU retired).   I also made the butterflies from the floral paper using the SU Embosslits Beautiful Wings that I have had for years.   I used black to layer them with the next size up butterfly.  I topped it all of with SU Pearls.   It was fun to make...I hope it's monochromatic enough--since black is a neutral!  Thanks for stopping in and comments are always appreciated.    Kathy

Hello Spring...

Psalm 16.11

My no-stamping card, using a Bible Verse downloaded from Word Art Wednesday is made using the Tuesday Morning Sketch for this week.   I love doing "paper" cards.  For this one I used a piece from a pad I bought at AC Moore Love by Nicole--not sure the name of this pad.  To cover the unevenness of the layering ovals I added punch matted butterflies.  I think black small plaid always looks good with neutrals and of course with melon mambo.   Thanks for looking,      Kathy
