Baby onesie card....

The baby sets and die cuts have been retired from SU for a few years now.    My SU friend actually gave them to me when she ordered some new stuff last year.   When I saw the sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday, I thought of this, I've done something similar before.   I used the playful penguin papers and seafoam as my predominant colors.  My favorite thing to make is the die cut hanger, so stinkin cute.   It was after I had cut and stamped and got it ready to assemble that I discovered how much it appears that I had copied Valerie's card.   When I hadn't but, after I looked at her card really well, I decided to trim the vertical panel of stripes and show the seafoam on each side more.   I decided to go ahead and  share it, because of the new papers and just all the creative things that can be done with it.   Thanks for looking and have a safe week!    Kathy

Thanksgiving Leaves Card...

Here is my second card for Inspired by... "Hello Friend,  fall look and colors.    I used the Card Concept colors, it looked like Navy in the picture to me,  I even put in a brand  new color cartridge and printed it out.    The Playful Pnguin blue stripe worked and I tied  it with a mint maccaron cord and used the  colors the cagun and yellow - pumpkin pie to give my leaves a burnished look.   The image and Sentiment are from Graciellie Designs.   I used colored pencils, for this small an image it just works better than water color pencils.   I really liked the challenges and I think this is a very nice card.   Simple and clean!       Thanks for stopping in,   Kathy

Merry Christmas Wreath card

I've started playing over at Inspired By...Challenge Blog, another way for me to take care of the gray matter I have left in my brain!    I  was inspired by the picture to do a wreath and use beautiful DSP Paper.  The wreath image and sentiment are both digital from Gaciellie Designs and I'm learning to work with digi's without wasting, but it is challenging.    I will have the fall card posted in a little while, I decided to make all the challenges and just see how it turns out.    Thanks for stopping in,          Kathy

New Home (card for our new neighbors)

Every now and then I go searching for challlenges and last night I found My Time To Craft Challenge Blog.    As it turns out the challenge this week is creating a New Home Card.   I had just made one over the weekend, took a picture, bought a local restaurant card that is only on my coast of the states and knocked on their door.   They moved in the week before!         I have never entered a challenge for this type of card.   The image is a digi stamp from Glacielle Designs, which I love and if she keeps having such good sales, I'm in trouble!         The house looks in need of some TLC so I played that up on the card.   The house the neighbors bought was given plenty of TLC from the guys that owned it.  It's beautiful inside and out.   We miss the guys (they relocated to another state for a great job opportunity but it will be nice to get to know and enjoy the new folks.   Thanks for stopping in,  I look forward to continuing to participate at My Time to Craft Challenge Blog.      Kathy

Peaceful Season Christmas...

When I first started stamping and making cards, we did not have beautiful DSP.  There was scrapbook paper, but we thought of that as just for scrapbooking.   I just love all the beautiful papers.
Today's card features Peaceful Place SU DSP.    The sketch is Freshly Made Sketches.  It took me awhile to get the look that I liked, but here it is!   If I make more to send to friends, I will probably leave the cherry cobbler matting off,  it would make it easier and I think I would like it better.   Have a safe week and thanks for stopping in!     Kathy

I made another one!  The good news is, I have a lot of DSP to work with!

cone of flowers sweet birthday....

For my card I have used Glacielle Designs digital stamps and digital paper.  I wouldn't say it's easier, it can be very challenging to work with digital images and paper, but you don't have to worry about a smudged image.   I have developed a tremor and so most of the time when I stamp,  I used my SU stamparatus to avoid smudging.   I offset the sentiment to the left so that when I cut it I could use some of the background image that would be kind of hard to fussy cut.  I then copied the cone/flowers image so it would be exactly the same size as the bottom image (hope this makes sense).   I used a 4 on 1 vertical label program and printed it.   I cut the 8 1/2 by 11 in half and you can fold the half without images to make the card base.   I then printed an 8 1/2 by 11 with the blue brushstroke background, cut and adhered it to the background panel and used an oldembossing folder to give the panel texture, this panel I adhered to the card base.   The sequins are from CTMH last year's color of the year.   The image is watercolored using CTMH and SU colored pencils.     The image is different, but fun and I think it worked well with this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.    Thanks for stopping by,   have a safe week!     Kathy
